Six hours of behind-the-wheel training are required by the DMV to get a provisional license.

- Complete 30 hours of classroom education or take the Internet course.
- Pass the permit test.
- Complete 6 hours of behind-the-wheel training.
- Complete 50 hours of additional training with parents or another adult.
